Palau
Palau - an Archipelago of about 350 islands islands - is world-famous for their sharks, mantas, huge fish (1300) and coral (300) species, WWII plane and ship wrecks, and on, and on. A Mecca for every diver. With its tropical climate (located about 7º north of the equator) and pristine waters, the Republic of Palau is a spectacular travel and dive destination. But SharkSchool™ did not just choose Palau for its rich undersea environment but likewise for its dedication to shark conservation.
Palau created the world's first shark sanctuary!

For Switzerland it is the Matterhorn, for Tanzania it is the Kilimanjaro, for Japan it is the Fujiama - for Palau is the “Rock Islands.”
Dive sites and sharks
A lot could be said about the more than 70 dive sites around Palau but no word could
justify the richness of forms and colors, and one has to see it for itself. Since shark-interaction workshop revolve around sharks, dive sites are chosen based on animal abundance rather than any other criteria but since most participants will prolong their stay in Palau, the opportunity to explore other sites is given. Most dives are actual drift dives what makes the course suitable for novice divers as well. As with all other SharkSchool™ workshops, this course guarantees an intense week of learning and shark interacting as well. The only “non-shark” dive will take place in the world-famous "Jellyfish lake“- a must for every visitor to Palau.
What do I learn in this course?
We teach an INTERACTION I course in Palau, specially tailored to the local shark species using ADORE-SANE, the shark-human interaction concept.
Daily itinerary
Each day entails 2 dives. We stay on the water for both dives and take our lunch on board. Erich will brief participants before each dive what to expect, what to look for, or just highlight the most important points of the talks the evening before. The actual lectures will take place back at shore, either in the late afternoon or early evening hours before dinner.
